Pop icon and business mogul Rihanna may be ineligible to vote in this year’s U.S. presidential election, but that has not stopped her from clarifying her political stance.

On Monday, November 4, the Fenty X Savage creator took to Instagram to show her support for Kamala Harris while taking pointed jabs at Donald Trump and his policies.

In a post encouraging her followers to ‘vote cause I can’t,’ Rihanna humorously highlighted the power of a single vote in advancing women’s rights and challenging Trump’s legacy. The post featured sharp commentary on Harris’s progressive stance, and she even used the hashtag ‘#TanSuitSeason’ — a clever reference to the criticism Trump leveled at former President Barack Obama’s tan suit back in 2014. Rihanna’s fans also noted how the tag appeared to tie in with Harris’s Democratic National Convention outfit earlier this year, which many believe paid homage to Obama’s style.

Her post sparked both supportive and critical reactions from fans and Trump supporters alike. In typical Rihanna fashion, she didn’t hesitate to respond.

When a user criticized her post, suggesting she was encouraging illegal immigration, she clapped back with a reminder of the January 6 Capitol attack and a witty retort aimed at the critic’s comments.

She also addressed her citizenship status, explaining that she contributes to U.S. taxes despite being unable to vote.

She’s not the only high-profile celebrity to voice support for Harris. Beyoncé, Eminem, and Cardi B have all backed the Democratic candidate, making high-profile appearances and delivering speeches to inspire voter turnout. Beyoncé recently appeared at a Harris rally in Houston, while Eminem and Cardi spoke in Detroit and Milwaukee.
