The much anticipated ONE Musicfest came off last weekend with a host of artistes putting up their best performances at the show.
It was the 15th anniversary of the show held at Atlanta Central Park, attracting a large crowd and showstoppers including GloRilla and others who performed alongside guest artiste T-Pain.
Other talents like Victoria Monet, Method Man, and Redman also brought on their A-game, in addition to that of legendary performer Jill Scott.
The festival’s organizers partnered with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Black Coalition to amplify voter engagement as the US general elections approached. Influential congressmen and women were not left out.
The celebration, which empowers communities and uplifts Black voices, continued to be ranked as one of the most patronized music festivals, promising more eventful activities in the years ahead.
Cardi B, one of the guest artistes expected at the event, pulled out at the last minute due to a medical emergency. The rapper announced her decision via a social media post and apologized to her fans.
“I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days, and I won’t be able to perform at ONEMusicFest,” she wrote.
“It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend, and I wish I could be there. Bardi Gang – thank you for understanding, and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t Worry. Love yall,” she added.
The announcement came weeks after the top talent welcomed the third child of her estranged partner, Offset. The Drip composer stated that she was co-parenting the newborn with Offset.
In the conversation on X (formally Twitter), the songstress said, among other things, that she was enjoying a single life but wanted to balance her work life with her friendship with offset.
