In what appears to be another show of solidarity, the children of embattled Sean “Diddy” Combs’ say they remain united and would support their father, despite the many lawsuits filed against him.
The children, Quincy Brown, 33, Justin Combs, 30, Christian Combs, 26, Chance Combs, 18, and D’Lila and Jessie Combs, 17, issued a joint statement early this week, speaking publicly for the first time about their dad’s legal battles.
“The past month has devastated our family…Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media.
“We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family,” they stated.
The latest reaction comes after Diddy’s mother, Ms Janice Small Combs, expressed doubt about his son’s culpability in a similar statement issued early this month.
“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth but for a narrative created out of lies…To bear witness to what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words.
“Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence,” Ms Combs was quoted in the statement after some 100 new allegations had been filed against her son.
According to the singer’s mother, many of the allegations were coming from people “seeking financial gain” and not “justice.”
“…Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed,” she stated.
Apart from Diddy’s mother and children, DJ Envy, the host of the Breakfast Club podcast, also sought to defend Diddy, saying the singer, who had been denied bail several times, should be released from jail for the sake of his children.
“Diddy has three kids without a mom…I feel like he should’ve got a bond and been able to fight this outside. In this society, it feels like you’re guilty until proven innocent…
“But it should be the opposite, it should be innocent until proven guilty…If he did do the things that they say that he did, he should go to jail for a long time,” the show host stated in one of his episodes.
