Victoria Monét is set to release her first children’s book titled Everywhere You Are in June next year. The publication by Penguin Young Readers is expected to be available in English and Spanish.
It is described as “a lyrical and heartwarming story aimed to comfort children experiencing separation anxiety while offering solace to hardworking parents.”
Publishers say they intend to reach a broader audience, hence the decision to publish in both languages. It is said to be inspired by Monét’s own experiences as a working parent and reminds readers about the love between parent and child.
“This book means so much to me… It brings so much joy to know that families will share moments of reflection, understanding, and quality time while reading this book for generations to come! I’m passionate about the subject of the book and explaining it in a way that is digestible for a child,” Monét said in a statement and shared her excitement.
In June this year, Grammy Award Winner released a captivating video for her single titled Alright, a record off her Jaguar 2 album.
The trendy video, directed by Dave Meyers, generated 1.8 million views on YouTube in three days with some positive reviews. The choreography, which had some Michael Jackson moves, was supervised by Sean Bankhead.
In a statement following the release, she described Alright as “liberation and freedom at its core.”
She indicated that the video was “a visual presentation of that sentiment through freedom of movement and fluidity between masculine and feminine energy” and praised the partnership with Dave Meyers and Sean Bankhead.
“Every single person who had their hands on this visual was extremely passionate from inception, and we all worked hard to bring it to life! They showed up with their A-game surpassing what we all imagined. Serious teamwork!
“We all patiently and meticulously crafted it and are extremely excited to release it into the world! There’s no better month to release this visual than Pride Month, Black Music Month, and the beginning of summer ’24! I can’t wait to see where dance artists and the ballroom culture take it,” the 35-year-old performer stated.
