Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent appeal for bail has faced strong opposition from prosecutors, who have raised serious concerns about the mogul potentially engaging in bribery and witness tampering.

Diddy has been incarcerated since his arrest last month on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, having already been denied bail twice.

In a legal filing submitted on October 16, prosecutors highlighted the “serious and violent nature” of the allegations against Diddy, emphasizing his alleged attempts to cover up his actions. They urged the court to uphold Judge Andrew Carter’s prior denial of bail.

The filing referenced a notorious incident from 2016, where Diddy was accused of assaulting Cassie, along with subsequent actions that included offering a hotel security officer a significant amount of cash for silence and instructing his team to retrieve surveillance footage.

Prosecutors claim that Diddy has also attempted to contact potential victims and witnesses to influence their narratives, either directly or through associates. They noted a specific incident on September 14, just days before his arrest, when he allegedly contacted possible witnesses.

In opposing Diddy’s bail appeal with the 2nd Circuit, prosecutors argued that he downplayed the severity of the charges against him and the weight of the evidence. They expressed skepticism regarding his proposed $50 million bail package, which would confine him to his home under strict monitoring. Given Diddy’s network of loyal associates, they contend that this arrangement would not adequately mitigate the risks of witness tampering or obstructing justice.

While awaiting a ruling on the bail matter, Diddy’s legal team has requested to pause the appeal to seek a new bail hearing in U.S. District Court. They indicated that new evidence has surfaced since his arrest, justifying a reconsideration of his bail conditions.
