Legendary performer Lionel Richie will release his memoir in September next year, focusing on aspects of life and his musical journey.

The title of the book has not been revealed, but the publishers, HarperOne, describe it as an “intimate, deeply candid memoir.”

According to a release issued by the publishers, the book seeks to “inspire all who doubt themselves or feel their dreams don’t matter.”  It is expected to highlight lessons the musician learned over the years to become a superstar performer.

“Lionel Richie is not only a music legend who has long been a multicultural and generational bridge, but he has also witnessed monumental shifts in history and entertainment while working with some of the most significant talents of our age,” Judith Curr, President, and Publisher of HarperOne Group, was quoted in the release.

“We are thrilled to not only be providing his fans and friends with a nuanced, detailed, emotional telling of what his life has held, but his view of the world…what has changed and what has remained the same, the difficulties and the causes for celebration,” she added.

In addition to his divorce experience and the death of his father, the biography would highlight Lionel Richie’s days in the University and his experiences as a member of the music group “The Commodores,” up to the day he went solo and set his career on a new path.

Fans have been asked to pre-order the publication before it starts selling on September 30, 2025.

In April this year, the exceptional record producer embarked on a tour with one of the top music bands, Earth, Wind & Fire.

The show, as announced at the time, would end in November 2024, with stops at Thompson Boling Arena, and other locations. The show was a follow-up to his 2023 Sing A Song All Night Long tour, which went to North America with stops in Chicago, Boston, Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and others.

The year 2023 was said to be a successful year for the Find a Way to My Heart singer, as he sold over 125 million albums.  In 2022, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in addition to many other recognitions.
