Songstress Beyoncé turned up in style to support her mother, Tina Knowles, who was honored recently at the Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards.
The celebrated Grammy winner attended the event in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in a radiant outfit and blonde hair.
Looking stylish, she was in the company of her former Destiny’s Child bandmate and best friend, Kelly Rowland, beaming in pictures with her mother.
In her speech, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, said the best job she had ever done was being a mother.
“I’ve been so blessed in my life to do many things,” “I’ve had many careers, but I’ve always said that the best job that I’ve ever had is being a mother. I’ve had the privilege of raising and helping to raise four daughters. Two that were born to me and two that were a gift to me from God,” she said.
“I was somewhat of a rebellious teen and a young adult … but the day that I became a mother, I decided that this was one thing that I wouldn’t screw up,” she added.
In September this year, Beyoncé herself explained why she cannot do without music, and would apparently continue to produce hits after hits for millions of followers worldwide.
Speaking to ‘GQ’ Magazine, the Irreplaceable singer said she “would be a walking dead” if she could not sing.
“My voice has always been my companion…It’s why I have always been able to be happy alone. Music understands my heart even when I can’t find words,” she stated, adding that she always found “peace” in “private sanctuaries” like the studio and the car.
“Singing soothes me…It steadies my heartbeat, it’s my best hit of dopamine. There’s a certain magic in sitting at the piano, and letting my fingers play random chords as I just let anything and everything come out.
“Without singing, without music, without creating, I would be a walking dead…Creating music isn’t work for me; it’s what I was born to do,” the Texas Hold ‘Em performer added.
Apart from singing, which has “healed” her many times, her other interests include taking baths with essential oils, acupuncture, and reflexology.
