One of the attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs says he intends to file an appeal to have the embattled musician released from prison, pending his trial in court.
According to sources close to the team, the attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, reportedly filed a notice of intent to appeal for Diddy’s release on Monday.
The founder of the ‘Bad Boys’ group is said to have already been denied bail twice. Diddy is also said to have hired a powerful legal team, as part of the effort to be released from prison while he awaits trial.
Federal agents in New York City arrested the influential musician in September. 16 and was arraigned the next day in court. He has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The arrest came six months after law enforcers raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.
His defense has since denied the allegations leveled against the singer. Another court hearing has been scheduled for October 9.
In one of the allegations published, in July this year, a former porn actress named Adria English said Diddy “forced her to have sex with a guest at a party in 2007.”
She added that the musician also demanded that she have sex with guests at other parties he had held in New York and Florida.
In the lawsuit, filed on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the plaintiff alleged that he [Diddy] threatened to “wreck both her career and the career of her boyfriend if she didn’t agree to have sex.”
