It seems the recent backlash received by Tyla during the just-ended VMAs has nothing on her as the South African music star is booked for some of the biggest events coming up.
Tyla, is set to perform on the runway of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was announced on Wednesday, September 18.
Rolling Stone originally reported that Victoria’s Secret said it chose the Grammy-winning South African artist for her “vibrant personality” and “innovative take on pop and R&B,” hailing her as an “integral” part of the “entertainment, glamour, and fashion” of this year’s show.
Coincidentally, Coke Studio, a musical event hosted by The Coca-Cola Company, also revealed on Wednesday that Usher and Tyla are its latest collaborators.
It is not surprising since Usher recently gave Tyla her flowers during his Brooklyn show.
The pair is expected to contribute music and live performances, with the records to be announced at a later date.
“Being part of this year’s Coke Studio lineup is both an honor and an opportunity to engage with my fans through the power of music. Partnering with Coca-Cola to bring these experiences to life is exciting, and I can’t wait for fans to join us in the magic we’re crafting together.”
The Grammy Award-winning icon will hit the stage in October in Atlanta to do a live rendition of his song, while Tyla will perform hers in Johannesburg, South Africa, later in the year.
Tyla is also excited about the opportunity, which will take place in her hometown.
“I’m excited to perform in my hometown of Johannesburg as part of the COKE STUDIO™ platform. It’s a privilege to bring these vibrant moments to life and share the joy and energy with music lovers across the world.”
