The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are scheduled for September 11, and Megan Thee Stallion has been chosen to host the ceremony.
This will be Megan’s first time hosting an awards show. However, Megan has experience hosting because she co-hosted “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and hosted “Saturday Night Live” in the past.
As the most nominated hip-hop artiste this year, Megan is up for five VMAs overall, including best hip-hop and best collaboration (which she shares with GloRilla, with whom she has been on tour).
Her first MTV VMA victory dates back five years when the song Hot Girl Summer won best power anthem.
For the rapper, this year has been a true “hot girl summer one. Her third album, Megan, which she released in June, is her first release as an independent artiste.

Megan also recently performed at a rally for presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
The MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from New York’s UBS Arena on September 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
At the awards show this year, Katy Perry will receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a medley of her best-known songs.
