Beautiful Celebration As Ashanti And Nelly Welcome Their First Child

Sources close to musicians Ashanti and Nelly say the couple have welcomed their first child. The new baby reportedly arrived about four weeks ago.

“Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, on July 18, 2024…The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK!” a representative confirmed to some outlets.

Ashanti and Nelly had also indicated that their son’s name Kareem means “generous, kind and dignified.”

“His dad named him with a lot of pride…Having all of us in the delivery room and seeing his face for the first time, I cried it was just so emotional and spiritual at the same time,” Ashanti was quoted saying.

The Always On Time hitmaker also photos of herself wearing disposable underwear, suggesting she had given birth, and listed some titles of her composition in the caption.

“Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time.. lol…I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for Everything motherhood brings!

“This is what postpartum looks like…I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.” Ashanti wrote.

In April, Ashanti told some outlets that was she pregnant and engaged to Nelly, describing the development as a “blessing.”

“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation…“Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience,” she stated.

Nelly and Ashanti actually tied the knot on Dec. 27, 2023. Nelly has a son who is 25 and a daughter, Chanelle, who is 30. He also helped raise his niece and nephew after his sister, Jackie Donahue, died of leukemia at age 31 in March 2005.
