Radio and television personality Steve Harvey has reacted to claims that he accepted payments to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid.
A social media influencer named Dr. Umar Johnson reportedly made the allegations against Mr. Harvey and another personality.
However, Mr. Harvey recently set the record straight on his Morning Show, denying all the assertions that he was paid $10,000 for an interview.
The Family Feud host said he refuses to be bought and that his support for Ms. Harris is based on her ability to serve.
“They offer me 10K for an interview with Kamala Harris. I don’t want your money, but we can definitely do the interview…You can’t offer Steve Harvey $10,000 to do nothing. Let me just get that out the way.”
“I haven’t received a single dollar from anybody to do what I do, and I’m doing it gladly for free,” he stated on the show.
Steve Harvey’s net worth is estimated at $200 million. For this reason, he sees a $10,000 amount supposedly paid for him to campaign as “disrespectful” to his brand.
“I don’t do nothing, nothing, for $10,000. Don’t even insult the brand equity that I built over these 30 years on television. I just don’t, man…I’m doing this absolutely free of charge because I want this country to be in her [Kamala Harris] hands as opposed to Donald Trump’s hands. That’s why I do it,” Mr Harvey added.
The Original Kings of Comedy star stressed his dedication to Kamala Harris and the significance of black voters turning out in their numbers on Election Day.
