After years of being absent, Shanon Biles, the biological mother of Simone Biles begs for forgiveness for abandoning her as a baby and wishes to reconcile with the Olympic gymnast.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Simone and her young sister, Adria, were removed from Shanon’s care during childhood due to her struggles with drug addiction.

After a turbulent period in the foster care system, Biles and her younger sister were eventually adopted by Shanon’s father, Ronald, and wife, Nellie.

Simone has said on so many platforms that she is grateful to her grandparents for adopting her and her sister because, without them, there would be no Simone Biles.

Shanon, who has observed her daughter’s remarkable success in gymnastics from the sidelines, has expressed her readiness to develop a closer relationship with her. However, she hopes Simone will be the one to take the first step.

Although she’s devastated that she has missed out on key moments within her 27-year-old daughter’s life, such as her 2023 wedding with NFL star Jonathan Owens, Shanon has never stopped loving and celebrating the athlete from afar.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, her mother, Shannon Biles, said she was left with the hard reality that she had to celebrate in Columbus and not with her Olympian daughter, her son-in-law, Jonathan Owens, or Simone’s adoptive parents.

The 52-year-old shared that she hosted a watch party in her backyard in Ohio for her friends and family to join her as she cheered for her daughter.

Simone did not disappoint and can now boast of 30 World Championship medals, attaining GOAT status, walking away from the international competition with three gold medals and one silver, and maintaining her title as the most decorated U.S. gymnast of all time.
