We are aware of Jackson’s family legacy, but the recent revelation by Janet Jackson about her star-studded family tree has been a shocker.
During an appearance on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, Janet Jackson confirmed to Scott Mills, the host of fill-in, that the rumor about her being related to Stevie Wonder was true.
She said with a smile, “He’s our cousin. Not a lot of people know that. He’s our cousin on my mother’s side.”
The host then responded, “That’s blown my mind!” However, Miss Janet Jackson didn’t just stop there.
She revealed she’s also related to Tracy Chapman and Samuel L. Jackson, who are also her cousins.
Mills then replied. “I never knew.”
After the revelation, show fans took to social media to say they were surprised to learn that The Jacksons had so many famous relatives.
While some already knew that she was related to Stevie Wonder, others said they had no clue that Samuel L. Jackson and Tracy Chapman were a part of the Jackson clan.
The family, however, has collaborated on some projects that most thought were just work, but as it turns out, it’s family working together.
Steve Wonder over the years has worked with the Jacksons on a few projects. And was even credited with being a co-writer on Jermaine Jackson’s song “Let’s Get Serious,” and he also sang alongside Michael Jackson in two duets: Get It, We Are the World, and Just Good Friends.
As for working with Samuel L. Jackson, Wonder once contributed music to Spike Lee’s 1991 film “Jungle Fever,” which Samuel L. Jackson starred in.
