Award-winning American actor Will Smith appears to be going through a lot with his celebrity marriage to his wife and actress, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The two celebrities met in 1994 when she auditioned for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and they later got married in 1997.

The pair have two children together, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith, along with Trey Smith, Will’s son from his first marriage.

For some time now, Jada has been in the news, spilling secrets about her personal escapades outside her marriage with Will Smith, which appear to break the heart of the actor. Yet, Will Smith has vowed to stand firmly by his wife through fire or ice and remain loyal to her even if it is the opposite with Jada.

Recently, Jada Pinkett Smith made a shocking revelation about her marriage to Will Smith, stating that she and her husband have been living separate lives since 2016.  She also added that Will Smith’s famous slap on comedian Chris Rock when Chris made a joke about her alopecia during the 2022 Academy Awards came as a surprise to her.

Speaking to NBC’s Today Show, she said, “We are in a place now that we are in a deep healing space. And we are concentrating on healing the relationship between us… We are working very hard at bringing our relationship together back to a life partnership.”

“He can’t be this perfect idealized husband. I have to be able to accept him for the human he is. He has to accept me for the human I am. And we want to love each other there. When asked if the couple might live in the same house again, she agreed they might,” Jada stated.

Jada also indicated recently that she had considered a legal divorce but could not go through with it because she was determined to work through it.

Here are five instances where Jada broke Will’s heart and made him cry:

ENTANGLEMENT

In June 2020, Smith and Pinkett Smith once again faced rumours about their relationship. August Alsina claimed at the time that he had an affair with the Bad Moms actress for years. In a mini-reality show by the couple called Red Table Talk, Jada also admitted that she had an affair with Alsina four and a half years earlier and they were just friends. Around the same time, she revealed that she and Smith had decided to split. In that show, Will Smith is seen crying uncontrollably as his wife confesses to the affair.

The actress said, “No, we were over,” which is what opened the door for the “different kind of entanglement” with Alsina. “It was a relationship,” she said of her brief romance with Alsina. “I was in a lot of pain; I was very broken. In the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself.” Pinkett Smith continued, saying that the singer eventually broke off communication with her once she and Smith started to work on their relationship.

RELATIONSHIP TUPAC SHAKUR

Rapper Tupac and Jada shared a very great bond. However, they were never romantically linked. They had known each other since their high school days and went on to become close friends. However, Jada ended her friendship with the rapper in 1993, when the rapper was accused of sexual assault.

In the year 1996, Shakur was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, USA, when he was just 25 years old. Known as the ‘Greatest Artist’ of rapping history, his songs were about the racism and violence faced by black people in America, and he told his racism stories through his rapping.

In a recent interview, Jada admitted that she considers Tupac as her soulmate and sometimes misses him so much.

CHRIS ROCK SLAP

Will Smith released a lengthy video addressing the 2022 Oscars that July, noting that Chris Rock has not wanted to talk to him — and denying that Pinkett Smith encouraged him to slap the comedian.

“It’s like, you know, I made a choice on my own, from my own experiences, from my history with Chris. Jada had nothing to do with it. I’m sorry, babe. I want to say sorry to my kids and my family for the heat that I brought on all of us,” Smith said.

After standing firm to defend his wife for assaulting Chris, Jada Smith also came out to say that Will Smith’s famous slap to comedian Chris Rock when Chris made a joke about Jada’s alopecia during the 2022 Academy Awards, came as a surprise to her. Speaking in a recent interview with Hoda Kotb, Jada Pinkett admitted that she was taken aback when Will Smith referred to her as his wife because he had not done that in a long while.

WILL SMITH WEPT UNCONTROLLABLY

In an episode of Red Table Talk on October 22, 2018, Will Smith revealed that he cried uncontrollably in a restaurant bathroom when he realized that he was in a relationship with the wrong person.

Smith began the interview by saying: “We have created a marital and family paradigm that has been speculated about for a lot of years so I’m excited to tell the truth.”

JADA NEVER WANTED TO BE MARRIED

On October 22, 2018, Pinkett Smith said that she cried on her wedding day to Will Smith because she “never wanted to be married.”

On the same episode of Red Table Talk in which Smith recalled crying in a bathroom stall, Pinkett Smith spoke about being against the idea of marriage and a wedding ceremony – to the point that she was miserable on the day of their nuptials in 1997.

“I just never really agreed with the constructs,” she said of her opposition to marriage. “I just don’t agree with it. I never have. I still don’t.”

Pinkett Smith, who was three months pregnant at the time with their son Jaden, said that she was “so upset that I had to have a wedding.”

“It was a horrible wedding, I cried the whole way down the aisle,” Pinkett Smith added.
