Popeyes has invited Cardi B to work with them after she recently expressed dissatisfaction with the chicken restaurant’s new wings flavor.
The well-known restaurant chain then invited the superstar to “come through the test kitchen to collaborate on some wing flavors,” to which she answered with enthusiasm on X on Friday, July 26.
“Free wings??? Where y’all at? COME PICK ME UP,” Cardi replied.
Everything started when Cardi B called Popeyes’ new honey lemon pepper wings “not it” in a video that TMZ obtained.
“It’s just not good,” she added. “It tastes like Sprite soda. I don’t like it.”
Popeyes replied right away, writing in a post, “Bardi gang. We would love to have the girl visit the test kitchen and work with us on some wing flavors because she had some ideas about our honey lemon pepper wings.”
The rapper has expressed her views regarding Popeyes on previous occasions. She reviewed the “Hottie Sauce” flavor, which was created by Megan Thee Stallion, in the fall of 2021.
Cardi said at the time that Megan’s sauce was a hit “Bomb. ‘Cause it’s like, it smells and it feels like it’s going to hit you with, like, Louisiana Hot Sauce”. But then it goes to a different world like a sweet and sour.”
The two female rappers appear to have much in common; they have worked together on a few big hits and may now be working with Popeyes.
In October 2021, Megan Thee Stallion took to Instagram to reveal her relationship with Popeyes.
Megan not only introduced a new sauce but also acquired a franchise and intended to create her own Popeyes restaurants.
“Not only does ya girl have an official sauce but I’m also now a franchise owner and will be opening up my very own Popeyes locations #megantheestallionhottiesauce,” Megan shared on Instagram.
