Torrei Hart Shares Details On Her Divorce From Kevin Hart In Interview (Watch Video)

Kevin Hart’s ex-wife, Torrei Hart is sharing details about their divorce. Their love for comedy brought them closer together in 2001 when the Lift star was a student at a community college in Philadelphia.

Eight months after being engaged, they got married in a private ceremony in 2003.

Their first child, Heaven Leigh, was born two years later, and their second child, Hendrix, was born three years later.

However, after eight years of marriage, the couple decided to file for divorce.

PEOPLE reported at the time that Torrei claimed Kevin cheated on her in 2009 with his now-wife Eniko Parrish, something Eniko vehemently denied.

In a now-resurfaced 2023 video, Torrei, during an interview with No Jumper, is seen talking about how she was hauled out of court following her divorce from the comic actor.

“You know, they tried to paint me a certain way — his attorney…and I was just like, ‘Yo, like I’m not about to sit here and fight like this,’ ” Torrei said.

“I’m relieved that I wasn’t detained because I was going to choke [his attorney] in the courtroom. I jumped up, like they had to drag me out. So, I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m good, like, God gon’ get me what I’m supposed to have…’ You see, I’m not trippin’, and I’m not tripping on anything,” said Torrei.

Torrei also refuted reports that she left her marriage with a large sum of money.

“Show me the receipts. I would adore receiving twenty thousand per month. Please! That would be wonderful. Let me tell you what I received—roughly $150k—from my divorce ten years ago. That’s all. After a year, that money was gone. Okay, so I have no idea where they’re getting this from. However, I hustle. I’m out here doing it.”

Torrei Hart said she “did not get what she deserved” adding that she would “speak for women who I know were with their man shooting in the gym.”

Following their split, Torrei reportedly urged Kevin Hart to stop making jokes about her, according to an Atlanta Black Star article.

“I was like ‘Kev, like, the last Netflix special …like, before I was getting paid off them jokes.’ I’m like, ‘None of that money’s coming to me anymore. So, yes, stop putting me in the jokes, because I just don’t like it anymore.’ That’s when he started realizing, like, ‘Oh yeah. OK. You’re right. So that’s when a turning point happened for us and when I got out of the jokes more, and their relationship became better.”
