When DJ Cassidy started his Pass the Mic! series during the epidemic, he transmitted happiness into homes all across the world by discovering and honoring outstanding musicians from a variety of genres.
The series’ main genre was hip-hop culture, which was originally dismissed as a passing craze but has since grown to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
The show started with a really moving idea derived from a chat Cassidy had with Verdine White of Earth, Wind, and Fire.
White therefore served as a major inspiration for Cassidy’s passion for the soul music of the 1970s and 80s.
There were four main chapters in the evolution of the “Pass the Mic” series. The original series consisted of three self-produced, viral online episodes. After that, there were seven television specials in the BET series.

The Las Vegas residency, which began in the summer of 2020 at the Theater at Planet Hollywood, was the current phase.
Taking place over three weeks at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater, DJ Cassidy brought out some of the most illustrious names in hip-hop to help him light up the city.
During Cassidy’s six-show run, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Ja Rule, and Fat Joe were the main acts.
Many special guests also joined in on the fun, passing the mic between them and serenading the audience with some of their best-known songs.
On July 20, however, the much-anticipated show ended and as was to be expected, there was activity all night long.
A montage including several Pass The Mic alumni and special guest appearances, along with a video featuring friends and fans praising the platform, opened the evening. From there, there was Remy Ma, Fat Joe, the Bronx bomber, and many others.
The Pass The Mic Live! was three weekends of events, which represented the entertainment, camaraderie, and showmanship that DJ Cassidy had envisioned for the Las Vegas Residence.
