Toronto rap star Drake has fired back at Kendrick Lamar by adopting the 69 God moniker during a recent outing at a bowling alley.
Over the weekend, Drake went bowling with friends, and in a clip posted online, the rapper’s name on the venue’s screen read 69 God.
The reference harks back to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us, where Kendrick repeatedly rapped the line, “Freaky ass n-gga, he a 69 God,” making allegations about Drake’s personal life and even insinuating more serious accusations.
Keke Palmer wades into Drake and Kendrick beef
This contentious line from Kendrick’s song has recently been questioned by actress Keke Palmer. In an Instagram video, she expressed her confusion over why the term 69 God was considered a diss.
Palmer wondered aloud about the negative connotation, suggesting that being a “69 God” implied a reciprocal nature in relationships, which she saw as positive. Her caption humorously questioned what she might be missing, further stirring public curiosity.
Adding to the controversy, the feud between the two hip-hop giants drew criticism from singer Camila Cabello.
Cabello, who collaborated with Drake on her new album C,XOXO, shared her frustration in an interview. She praised Drake as delightful and expressed her dismay at the negative discourse surrounding him.
Cabello recounted her positive experiences working with Drake, highlighting how their collaboration came about organically. She described him as the greatest of all time and reminisced about their interaction that led to the track Hot Uptown, emphasizing the non-transactional nature of their creative exchange.
