American DJ and music producer, Diplo, has been sued for allegedly distributing pornographic images of a lady he was in an intimate relationship with.
The lawsuit was reportedly filed in a California federal court on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Sources close to the suit say the complainant [in her submission] claimed she began communicating with Diplo, on Snapchat, in April 2016 when she was 21 years old.
It said between April 2016 and June 2016, Diplo, born Thomas Wesley Pentz, “maintained continuous contact with the Plaintiff, exchanging pornographic images with her.”
The complainant and Diplo reportedly met in person for the first time in June 2016 and established “an intimate relationship” until October 2023.
According to the lady, she “never gave consent” to the music producer (Diplo) to record them engaging in sexual activities “nor did she want him to distribute images and/or videos to third parties.”
Other details of the case suggest that a stranger reached out to the complainant in November 2023, to tell her “that she had images of her [the Plaintiff] and Diplo engaging in sexual activity.
The supposed informant claimed that Diplo had sent her “the intimate material” via Snapchat in October 2018.
After hearing from the “informant” the female complainant said she reported Diplo to the New York Police Department, and that the police issued a warrant for the musician’s arrest.
A spokesperson for the New York Police Department (NYPD) had reportedly confirmed that there was “a criminal complaint on file for unlawful dissemination for a suspect with the name of Thomas Pentz” which was being investigated by NYPD detectives.”
