Shaquille O’Neal shared a hilariously edited image over the weekend, adding fuel to the fire in the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
The basketball legend posted a picture on social media showing Drake’s head superimposed onto a woman’s body in a black bikini, embracing Shaq as he relaxed on a yacht. Shaq chose Metro Boomin’s sneering “BBL Drizzy” instrumental as the background music to make the post even more comical.
While Shaq, also a musician, did not appear at Kendrick Lamar’s historic Pop Out concert in Inglewood last week, his latest social media antics suggest he is firmly on the side of the Compton rapper. Kendrick’s concert was a star-studded event with NBA luminaries such as DeMar DeRozan, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and James Harden either on stage or in the audience.
This is the first time Shaq has publicly jabbed Drake amid the rapper’s ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar.
Shaquille O’Neal and Drake’s history
However, Drake and Shaq do have a history. In Drake’s 2015 track Used 2, the Toronto native referenced the NBA Hall of Famer, highlighting Shaq’s dominance and the admiration he once had for him. The pair even collaborated on an episode of Inside the NBA, where Shaq beatboxed while Drake freestyled and performed his famous diss track Back to Back.
Drake has yet to respond to Kendrick Lamar’s recent Pop Out concert, which featured the debut of several diss tracks aimed at him, including Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Like That, and Not Like Us.
The event was further electrified by a guest appearance from Dr. Dre, who not only introduced Not Like Us but also performed classics like Still D.R.E. and California Love.
Shaq’s ex-wife never loved him
Meanwhile, Shaq’s ex-wife, Shaunie Henderson, has insinuated or so it seems in her most recent memoir, “Undefeated: Changing the Rules and Winning On My Own Terms, that she was never really sure if she loved her ex-husband Shaquille O’Neal unconditionally.
Shaunie and O’Neal had four children together and were married from 2002 until 2011, but according to her book, she preferred the lifestyle the marriage offered over the man she married.
