Remy Ma is standing by her son, Jayson Scott, who was just charged with first-degree murder.

The 44-year-old is supporting her firstborn and in a statement according to TMZ, expressed her hope that the 23-year-old “will be found not guilty after a comprehensive investigation.”

“We maintain Jayson’s innocence and hope the NYPD will carry out an exhaustive investigation to uncover the truth,” the statement read.

“This is undoubtedly a difficult time for me and family. While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove Jayson’s innocence.”

Scott was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux on June 7, 2021, in Queens, according to the NYPD. 22-year-old Richard Swygert is also accused of the same crime. It is said that the two got into a fight at the time of the tragic incident.

Remy Ma stated: “As his mother, I want to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel not to say anything — as most people in similar situations are informed by their attorneys due to it being an active case.”

Jayson was born to the artiste when she was twenty years old. Remy Ma is also a grandmother to Jayson’s daughter, Milani, whom he had with his then-partner Diamond in 2020.
