In a groundbreaking move, Mayor Eric Adams has revoked Diddy’s prestigious key to New York City following the emergence of a disturbing video involving the rapper and his former girlfriend, Cassie.

The decision, announced through letters obtained by TMZ, marks the first time such an honor has been rescinded in the city’s history.

Expressing deep concern over the footage, Mayor Adams emphasized his solidarity with survivors of domestic abuse. He underscored that the key, typically bestowed upon outstanding citizens, no longer aligned with the city’s criteria. Upon receiving the letter earlier this month, Diddy promptly returned the recognition symbol.

Rumors of the key’s withdrawal began circulating after Mayor Adams addressed the shocking video in an interview with PIX11 last month. He acknowledged the disturbing nature of the footage and indicated that discussions were underway regarding Diddy’s status as a key holder.

To add salt to injury, amid the controversy, rapper 50 Cent escalated his ongoing jabs at Diddy by making a surprise appearance at a charity event in Miami. The event, a roast of Diddy held at the Dead Flamingo Pop Up in Little Havana, aimed to raise funds for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Despite 50 Cent’s playful antics, which included posing for photos with fans and promoting his Branson Cognac, Diddy did not attend the roast.

The evening featured sets from local Miami comedians, including Lonnie Cox, Ricky Cruz, and Drew Illa, adding a lighthearted touch to the serious cause. Reflecting on his attendance, 50 Cent took to Instagram to share his thoughts, playfully speculating on Diddy’s absence and engaging in his signature brand of humor.
