In a recent interview with Bootleg Kev, Compton rapper Problem, also known as Jason Martin, spilt the beans on Kendrick Lamar’s fiery response to Drake’s diss track Family Matters.
Problem revealed that he texted Kendrick as soon as Drake’s song dropped, urging him to respond. Kendrick, it seems, was more than ready. Kendrick quickly retaliated, saying that by the time he returned from a brief bathroom break, Lamar’s scathing reply, Meet the Grahams, was already live.
According to Problem, the rapper had been waiting for this moment, biding his time for Drake to make a move. He detailed how Kendrick Lamar was unfazed by the Canadian rapper’s efforts, stating that Drake did not realize the hornet’s nest he had kicked. Problem emphasized the urgency and intensity of Kendrick’s response, reflecting the high stakes in this hip-hop feud.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s diss songs
Drake’s Family Matters did not hold back, targeting Kendrick and other industry heavyweights like Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky, and The Weeknd. However, his harshest lines were aimed directly at Lamar, accusing him of assault and questioning the paternity of one of his children.
Kendrick’s Meet the Grahams was a blistering counterattack. Lamar didn’t just defend himself; he went on the offensive with equally damaging allegations against Drake, accusing him of inappropriate behavior with minors, concealing a daughter, and associating with known sex offenders. This rapid-fire exchange left fans and critics alike reeling from the intensity and personal nature of the disses.
In the aftermath of this explosive back-and-forth, Drake seemed to back down. His subsequent track, “The Heart Part 6,” received lukewarm responses, with many in the hip hop community criticizing his efforts. Seemingly admitting defeat, Drake has since deleted all of his Kendrick diss tracks from social media.
