Canadian rapper Drake has sparked excitement among fans by hinting that new music could be released as early as this summer.

The buzz began when Gordo, Drake’s longtime producer who worked on his latest album For All The Dogs, posted an intriguing photo on Instagram.

In the viral post shared online, Gordo posted a picture with Drake flipping the middle finger at the camera, accompanied by the caption, “You guys ready for summer 2024…”.

The post has led many to speculate that the duo is back in the studio cooking up fresh tracks. Adding to the hype, Drake appeared surprisedly on Sexyy Red‘s new album In Sexyy We Trust, which dropped earlier in the week with little prior notice.

Drake’s feature on the track, where he raps over Metro Boomin’s BBL Drizzy beat, quickly became a talking point online.

When a fan jokingly inquired whether Sexyy Red was trading intimate favors for features, she responded with a succinct and presumably sarcastic “yes,” which only fueled the rumors further.

Drake’s admiration with Sexyy Red over the years

Drake’s admiration for Sexyy Red has been evident since she rose to fame last year. He recently referred to her as his “guiding light” in an Instagram post sharing photos from his “It’s All a Blur — Big As the What?” Tour with J. Cole and Lil Durk.

He described Red as his muse, further cementing their close professional and personal connection. The Canadian superstar’s fondness for Sexyy Red was also on display when she was cast as the mother of his child in the music video for their collaboration Rich Baby Daddy from his album For All The Dogs.

Their chemistry was palpable during a concert in New York over the summer, where a viral photo captured Drake planting a kiss on Sexyy Red’s cheek.
