Kanye West has extended his admiration to Drake just weeks after launching a verbal attack on the Toronto-based rapper.
In a conversation with Hypebeast magazine, Kanye West lauded Drake’s collaborative work with 21 Savage, drawing parallels with his musical partnership with Ty Dolla $ign.
West and Ty Dolla $ign have been creating music together for a considerable period. The Chicago-born rapper highlighted some of Ty’s contributions to his past solo albums, noting that the audience is now recognizing the quality of their collaborative work.
However, this praise comes shortly after West took a jab at Drake in a remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which ignited the recent rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. West also made several derogatory comments about Drake in an interview with Justin Laboy, suggesting that Drake is merely a pawn for Universal Music Group and his raps lack substance.
As for his collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, their first joint album, Vultures 1, was released in February as part of a planned trilogy. The much-anticipated sequel was expected to arrive earlier this month, but its release date passed without any sign of the album or an explanation from either artist.
However, Ty recently updated the status of Vultures 2 during a Kick stream with Russian YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy. He confirmed that the album would drop soon and be available exclusively on Kanye’s YZY app, not on mainstream streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
