Comedian Gary Owen has found himself back in the public eye due to his open discussion of his personal life on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay.

In the interview, Owen discussed the lack of contact with his kids, which prompted his ex-wife, Kenya Duke, to react on social media to the comments regarding their broken marriage.

Owen talked about his ex-wife, Kenya, and his relationship with their estranged children throughout the episode.

The comedian made an effort to be open and honest with the audience, but his remarks did not sit well with his ex-wife.

Owen told Sharpe, “Right now, I’m not sure how to fix our relationship. All I want them to know is that I adore them, I’m happy for them, and I’m always available to them.”

Following the episode’s airing, Kenya swiftly took to Instagram to voice her displeasure and annoyance with Owen’s decision to discuss their personal matters in public.

She called out the comedian for his insensitivity in a series of Instagram postings, highlighting the emotional toll his actions had inflicted on her and their family.

“It’s been three years,” Kenya wrote. “I’ve always been kind and cool with you, never making things awkward. I’ve never bothered you.

I’ve offered suggestions about the situation, but you don’t respect boundaries, which is why you’ve brought this up again on social media. I don’t know what else I can do to help you. I always wish you well.”

She continued, “I’ve grown to the point where I don’t feel the need to correct every falsehood. The grace and kindness I’ve shown you have just given you space to spin tales and craft false narratives for sympathy and attention. You’re a great storyteller. Sometimes I even get caught up in your versions.”

Kenya has previously publicly chastised Gary Owen on several occasions. He said in November of last year that he had not spoken to their kids for more than three years, claiming he was giving them time to get better.

Kenya promptly shot back, charging him with ignoring their kids’ feelings in favor of public sympathy. Despite her belief that they had been neglected, she nevertheless urged their kids to give Owen another shot.
