The feud between 50 Cent and Desiigner took another turn on Monday, September 16, as the G-Unit leader took to Instagram to poke fun at the Brooklyn rapper.
The social media post featured Desiigner’s 2017 freestyle for Funkmaster Flex, which was met with ridicule at the time. 50 Cent, a regular troll, captioned the post with a dismissive comment, further fanning the flames of their ongoing dispute.
Desiigner’s response was swift and sharp. The rapper, known for his breakout hit “Panda,” didn’t hold back. He mocked 50 Cent’s dramatic weight loss for the 2011 film All Things Fall Apart and previewed a new track with lyrics aimed directly at his adversary. In addition, he shared an Instagram Story featuring a photo of him making an obscene gesture, adding fuel to the fire.
The current clash between the two rappers dates back to earlier this month when 50 Cent revealed on a podcast that he had considered signing Desiigner but ultimately decided against it. He cited concerns about Desiigner’s work ethic and future potential as reasons for not pursuing a deal. 50 Cent recounted his experience with Desiigner, noting that despite being impressed by his hit single, he was left unimpressed by the rapper’s other material.
Desiigner responded by releasing a freestyle in which he took shots at 50 Cent, suggesting he was never worth a record deal. The track also included references to Timmy Turner, another song of Desiigner’s, and aimed at highlighting his success under Kanye West’s label compared to 50’s lack of support.
In response to Desiigner’s freestyle, 50 Cent dismissed the effort as “trash” and continued engaging in the public spat, including jabs at other rivals such as Dame Dash.
