2025 Met Gala: Social Media Reacts To Theme And All Black Co-Chairs

Some social media users are reacting to the much-awaited theme for the biggest night in fashion, “The Met Gala,” which included an all-black male co-chairs.

The renowned occasion, widely acknowledged as the most spectacular night in fashion, will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art, also referred to as The Met, in New York City.

There are about 450 attendees, including celebrities, up-and-coming creatives, and heavyweights in the fashion industry. This event gives designers the best stage to present their most audacious concepts.

The core of the inauguration of the yearly exhibition is the yearly theme, and the spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,”  has stirred up strong emotions.

The Met, in partnership with Vogue, made it known to the public on October 9.

The head editor of Vogue, Anna Wintour, actor-playwright Colman Domingo, British racer Lewis Hamilton, rapper A$AP Rocky, and music legend Pharrell Williams are all set to co-chair the Met Gala in 2025.

NBA icon LeBron James is also on the list as an honorary chair.

Famous fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert organized the inaugural Met Gala in 1948, but the annual themes weren’t adopted until 1973.
